Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha defended his unrelenting efforts to set up Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) classes in spite of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s tenure coming to an end.
The Education CS said he is only committed to fulfilling his mandate to the government.
Moreover, while speaking in Lang’ata during the inspection of CBC classes on Tuesday, September 6, George Magoha noted that his actions were not to be misconstrued to suggest that he was only looking to be absorbed in President-elect William Ruto’s government.
However, the CS mentioned that if the president-elect would deliberate on reinstating him following his work in the sector, he would not hesitate to be part of his cabinet.
“I am not looking for a job; you can take that to the bank. Nobody should mistake me that I am completing this work in order to be seen that I want this job,” Magoha stated.
“But if in his wisdom the president-elect thought that I could even be half worthy to be considered, we will have a conversation with him because I have now connected with the children, the poor children.” He continued.
Likewise, George Magoha noted that if Ruto is thinking in the same direction as he is and gives him the support that her requires. Meaning that he is allowed to do things the way he wants and not any other person then he will say yes.
In addition, George Magoha defended the ongoing setting up of CBC classrooms.
He stated that CBC is not a money guzzler, however, one has to ensure they get the value for money.

“It is not going to be easy for government officers to get value for money because they have a culture of doing things in a particular manner.” He added.
Nevertheless, CS George Magoha’s remarks follow perceived strife between him and William Ruto as witnessed during the August polls campaign period.
