Beyond the fierce competition, sprint finishes and gruelling climbs, the 4th Kaptagat Cycling Challenge, held in Elgeyo Marakwet County, has become a powerful symbol of how sport can restore forests, uplift communities and leave a lasting conservation legacy.
The race forms part of the broader Kaptagat Integrated Conservation Programme (Kaptagat-ICP), a community-led conservation initiative spearheaded by National Treasury Principal Secretary and Programme Patron Dr. Chris Kiptoo to restore the Kaptagat Forest ecosystem while creating sustainable livelihoods for forest-edge communities.
Through these images, we capture the moments where determination meets purpose, proving that in Kaptagat, every ride is an investment in Kenya’s greener future.
