President William Ruto has announced an investment of KSh695 million in key development projects in Migori County.
Speaking during the laying of the foundation stone for the Mabera Modern Market in Migori County on March 23, Ruto said the government is investing in key development projects to improve healthcare, training, and local economic growth.
The KSh695 million caters for ongoing hospital construction, the construction of KMTC hostels, and the construction of a modern market.
He noted that construction is ongoing at Kegonga Sub-County Hospital in Kuria East Constituency, a KSh345 million project aimed at improving access to quality universal healthcare services.

“I inspected construction works at Kegonga Sub-County Hospital in Kuria East Constituency, Migori County, a KSh345 million investment aimed at enhancing access to quality universal healthcare,” Ruto said.
Also, he added that the government will invest KSh150 million to build hostels at Kegonga KMTC to support the training and accommodation of healthcare students.
Further, Ruto announced plans to construct a KSh200 million modern market in Kegonga town to boost trade and stimulate local economic activity.
“We will also build a KSh200 million modern market to boost local trade and economic growth in Kegonga town,” he said.

Ruto Drives Multi-Billion Projects in Nyanza
This week, Ruto has overseen a series of major development projects across Nyanza, focusing on roads, trade, education, and the blue economy.
On March 22, Ruto reported commissioning the Rusinga Island Ring Roads in Homa Bay County.
“This road project will unlock Rusinga Island’s tourism potential and accelerate blue economy activities, including the construction of fish landing sites, fish markets, rescue centres, and aquaculture cages,” he said.
Currently, the government is building 298 km of roads in the county for KSh17 billion, with an additional 78 km worth KSh5.6 billion planned.

He also inspected the 18 km Karabok-Adiedo Road, valued at KSh925 million, aimed at improving access for local communities in Karachuonyo Constituency.
On March 21, after officially commissioning the Seme Teachers Training College, Ruto confirmed the allocation of KSh5 billion for road network upgrades in Kisumu County to enhance connectivity and economic activity.
He flagged off the construction of the 12 km Holo-Lela Road in Kisumu Town West Constituency, costing KSh950 million, and inspected the KSh70 million Holo Modern Market, aimed at boosting trade.
The President also emphasised investments in the blue economy along Lake Victoria, committing KSh9.5 billion to projects including the Asat Fish Landing Site in Seme Constituency, Kisumu, to support fisheries and local livelihoods.
