President William Ruto has sent a message of condolence to Anthony Mwaura, the Chair of the Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) and the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Elections Board, following the death of his mother, Consolata Wanjiru Mwaura.
In a statement on April 21, President Ruto described Mama Wanjiru as a respected leader who made a lasting difference in her community through service and generosity.
Ruto said Consolata would be remembered for her strong leadership values, wisdom, and commitment to mentoring others.
“Mama Wanjiru will be remembered for her remarkable leadership, her deep love for her community, and her generosity,” the President said, adding that she touched many lives through her kindness and selfless service.
The President conveyed his sympathies to Mwaura and the entire family, noting that the loss of a parent is deeply painful. He assured them of his support during the difficult period of grief.
“At this painful time, we stand with you in grief and prayer, asking God to grant you strength and comfort,” President Ruto said. “May Mama’s soul rest in peace.”
Other leaders have also conveyed their condolences to the family of Anthony Mwaura. In a statement, Nyandarua Woman Representative Faith Gitau said, “Words feel inadequate to express the emptiness and void left by the matriarch”.
