Africa is endowed with natural resources. African youth have potential to contribute successfully to social, economic and political stability of the region. This was said by Dr. Yasir Khan, a renowned Political Scientist based in Vienna, Austria.
In an interview, Dr. Khan highlighted the success stories of the United Nations in peacekeeping in the African regions.

Dr. Khan elaborated the gaps in the political structure in the African region, saying higher education institution and social media should play vital role in promoting the political and democratic vision of youth in Africa.
Asked about the existing political conflicts in the African regions, Dr. Khan argued that the African states should revisit the policies to overcome the existing political conflicts and develop the coordination and unity for economic stability.

He further said that youth development programs should be launched actively to enhance the positive contributions of African youth to the sustainable development of the society.

In addition, the scholar noted that state security should be enhanced for the safety and promotion of human rights in Africa.
African leaders should tackle widespread abuses against civilians and guarantee justice for the equal rights and peacekeeping in African societies.
According to Dr. Khan, this will help to address the issue of armed groups which are a serious threat to the political and economic stability in the African regions.
The Political Scientist argued that almost all African countries have experienced some form of conflict and violence.
“Hunger, climate change and civil unrest are emerging issues in the African regions that need particular focus by the political leadership of Africa,” he explained.

Dr. Yasir Khan has been with the Austrian Institute for European and Security Policy since September 2022, focusing his research on topics of South Asia in the field of economic, security, and political dimension amidst the rising Chinese role, particularly in countries such as Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan.
