Junet Mohamed has criticized Parliament over the move to schedule a date to discuss the removal of four IEBC commissioners.
According to Junet, the move is an attempt to subvert the constitution and Parliamentary rules.
“This is fake and an attempt to subvert the constitution and the standing orders of the National Assembly. Never resolved in the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee,” Junet said.
Junet’s remarks follows four petitions that were filed in Parliament for the removal of IEBC vice chairperson Juliana Cherera and her counterparts Justus Nyang’aya, Francis Wanderi and Irene Masit.
Moreover, these IEBC commissioners disagreed with chairman Wafula Chebukati over the August 9 presidential vote tallying and results.

However, the allegations dismissed by Chebukati and two other IEBC commissioners formed some of the grounds upon which Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua challenged President William Ruto’s election at the Supreme Court.
Furthermore, the National Assembly’s Justice and Legal Affairs Committee, chaired by Tharaka MP Gitonga Murugara, has set dates for the hearings of four petitions pushing for the removal of the IEBC four.
“It is notified for the information of the general public that the Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs shall commence hearings on the four petitions for the removal of commissioners of the IEBC from Thursday, November 24,” the National Assembly said.
