Public Service Cabinet Secretary (CS) Moses Kuria and his Defence counterpart Aden Duale has shared crypted messages seemingly towards Deputy President (DP) Rigathi Gachagua amid claims of mistreatment from a faction of Kenya Kwanza leaders.
Kuria posted a video clip of Gachagua lecturing CSs and PSs for arriving late during a previous event hosted by President William Ruto and a recent clip of the DP apologizing for coming late to the recently held Akurino National Conference 2024.
“Mungu nifundishe kunyamaza,” Kuria captioned the video. This translates to “God, teach me to be silent/ quiet.”
In the first clips Gachagua slammed the CSs for arriving at an event after the President had already settled down.
“I have seen people arriving late and realized the president was not pleased because I know him. Today is a day for performance contract, a very important day and you arrive when the president is already seated. What excuse do you have to arrive late, who else did you go to see?” he asked.

In the second clip, Gachagua is heard apologizing for arriving at the Akurino event that was held in Nakuru County after the head of state, against what protocol dictates.
The DP went on to cite problems with transport arrangements and bad weather for his lateness.
“I delayed to leave and I was stuck between Longonot and Naivasha for almost two hours before I could get here,” he said.
“Impeachment loading,” Kuria said in another tweet raising concerns about the state of affairs in the government.
Aden Duale & Ahmednasir Abdullahi
On the other hand, Duale used the words of Nigerian author Chinua Achebe seemingly hitting at the recent behavior and utterances of the DP.
“Whenever you see a toad jumping in broad daylight, then know that something is after its life,” he quoted Chinua Achebe.
Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi on the other hand hinted that Gachagua’s political career will be short-lived.
He shared a clip of the DP addressing a crowd in Nyeri County emphasizing that he will unite with former President Uhuru Kenyatta to bring the country together.
“Looks like DP Gachagua will join a long and illustrious list of Vice Presidents whose political career ended prematurely…good people what happened to my favourite politician from Central Kenya?” the lawyer posed.

He said he will respect, be loyal and follow Ruto’s orders but will never allow his junior to control him.
“I cannot allow people who hang around him, his friends, to also think they are my bosses, they are not. I am elected by the people of Kenya, and I can’t confuse my boss with his friends, I am not that stupid, I know the difference,” he said.

Gachagua said he will continue calling for the unity of the Mt Kenya region to guarantee the region bigger resources in the national government.
