United Democratic Alliance (UDA) chair Johnson Muthama has been nominated as a non-MP to the powerful Parliamentary service commission (PSC).
His nomination follows the conclusion of the interviews conducted last December.
Former Kisii Governor James Ongwae, former MPs Peter Mwathi (Limuru), Chris Wamalwa (Kiminini), Cornelly Serem (Aldai) and David Were (Matungu) had also been shortlisted for the position.
A total of 171 applicants had shown interest in the position but only eight were shortlisted.
The report from the committee will now be tabled in both the National Assembly and Senate when it resumes its sittings Tuesday.
Muthama will replace Ainabkoi MP Samuel Chepkonga who resigned last year to defend his seat.
