Omara argued that the discussions would ensure Uganda’s stability after Museveni’s presidency.
“There should be a conversation about the post-president era, and people should start engaging their minds. What do we need to do to ensure Uganda stays on a path of continuity that is favourable to both our countries?” Omar said.

Museveni has led Uganda for nearly four decades since taking over in 1986.
He is likely to extend his rule beyond four decades after the 2026 elections.
Besides, Museveni is NRM’s chairman and has been a dominant figure in Uganda’s politics since 1986.
Omara was speaking during the closure of a six-day visit by UDA officials to Uganda.
