Chemutai Goin has built a career in journalism and parliamentary communications, rising from an internship at Kenya Television Network (KTN) to political reporting at K24 and Citizen TV before joining the Office of the Speaker of the National Assembly.
Known formally as Jane Chemutai Goin, she has covered politics, governance, parliamentary affairs, and current events across television, radio, and digital platforms.
Goin’s journey in the media industry began as an intern at KTN, where she gained her first experience in newsroom operations and reporting.
After her internship, she joined Capital FM as a reporter, growing her skills in news gathering and storytelling.
She later moved to MediaMax Network Limited, the company behind K24 TV, where she worked as a political and current affairs reporter.
Chemutai Goin at Citizen TV
Goin joined Citizen TV in November 2018 and joined the station’s political reporting team.
During her more than five years at the Royal Media Services-owned station, she covered Parliament, governance issues, elections and other major national events. She also filed stories for Citizen Digital, focusing on politics, public affairs and government matters.

Her work involved reporting in English and Kiswahili, as well as providing live coverage of major political developments across the country.
Among the major events she covered were parliamentary proceedings and Kenya’s election cycles.
Goin was one of the faces of media houses that covered the 2017 and 2022 General Elections.
In 2023, she also served as Secretary-General of the Kenya Parliamentary Journalists Association (KPJA).
After more than five years at Citizen TV, Goin left the station in February 2024 to pursue a career in parliamentary communications.
Chemutai Goin’s Role in Parliament
After leaving Citizen TV, Goin joined the Office of the Speaker of the National Assembly, Moses Wetang’ula, on the communications team.
In her new role, she became involved in parliamentary communication and public engagement initiatives. Her work has also included contributions to National Assembly publications.
Her name has appeared among contributors to Bunge Weekly, the publication produced by Parliament, including editions published in 2025.

Chemutai Goin’s Education
Goin studied at the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom.
Her academic background laid the foundation for a journalism career that took her across some of Kenya’s leading media organizations before she moved into parliamentary communications.
Chemutai Goin’s Family
Despite her public profile, Goin has kept details of her personal life away from the spotlight.
One of the few publicly known family events was the death of her father, Mzee Andrea Arap Goin, who passed away on June 8, 2022, after a long battle with cancer.
Chemutai Goin’s Award
Goin was among journalists honored with the Presidential Order of Service (Uzalendo Award) in 2020.
According to the Kenya Gazette, the recognition was conferred during the Madaraka Day celebrations on June 1, 2020, for distinguished service in helping the country navigate the challenges brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The award recognized individuals who played a t role in keeping Kenyans informed during a period of national uncertainty.
