One Africa Place is one of Nairobi’s commercial landmarks, combining a distinctive curved façade with Grade A office space in Westlands.

The building is located at the intersection of Chiromo Road and Rhapta Road.

The tower has become a preferred address for multinational corporations, financial institutions, and consulting firms.

Developer Behind One Africa Place

One Africa Place was developed through a partnership involving Imaran Group, a real estate investment and development firm, and DMI Kenya Limited, the company responsible for overseeing the execution of the landmark project. The development was conceived as a world-class Grade A office tower to attract multinational corporations to Nairobi and reinforce the city’s position as East Africa’s leading business hub.

The project was led by Paul Downey, Managing Director of DMI Kenya Limited, alongside a team of local and international architects, engineers and consultants. Their vision was to create a premium commercial development that would combine striking architecture with modern workplace amenities.

One Africa Place was designed as a distinctive curved tower with an elliptical form. The developers sought to create what they described as an “urban sculpture”, blending aesthetics, energy efficiency and functionality in a single development.

History, Rental Rates and Features of One Africa Place

The development was originally known as Palazzo Tower before it was rebranded as One Africa Place. Construction began in 2015. The building comprises 138,000 square feet of office space across 21 floors.

During its construction, the idea drew expertise and materials from around the world, including façade systems and glazing sourced through an international supply chain.

According to Knight Frank Kenya, office rents range between USD 1.35 and USD 2.15 per square foot per month, while retail space attracts between USD 2.25 and USD 3.00 per square foot per month.

The pricing is supported by modern facilities designed to meet international corporate standards.

(NOTE: These charges periodically change and are only valid at the time of publication).

These include a triple-height entrance lobby, double-glazed solar-efficient windows, high-speed passenger lifts, extensive fibre-optic connectivity and a sophisticated building management system.

The tower also features mechanised and conventional parking systems providing 333 parking spaces, integrated CCTV monitoring, access-control systems, rainwater-harvesting infrastructure, and treated borehole water.

The tower also has Multiple standby generators for power backup. It also has advanced sprinkler systems and fire-detection technology.

Multibillion-Shilling Companies Based in One Africa Place

One Africa Place has attracted an impressive mix of global corporations and regional organisations.

Among its occupants is Google Kenya, which uses Nairobi as a key base for its East African operations. The technology giant has invested heavily in digital infrastructure, cloud services and innovation initiatives across Africa.

The tower is also home to BMW Kenya, Jaguar, Land Rover, BMW Motorrad, Changan, and New Holland, operated by Inchcape Kenya.

Other notable organisations in the tower include Boston Consulting Group (BCG) on the 19th floor, one of the world’s leading management consulting firms; Mastercard Foundation, a major development organisation active across Africa; and NCBA Investment Bank, a key player in Kenya’s financial sector.

ENSafrica, a law firm, also has its Kenya office in the building, occupying the 15th floor.

One Africa Place also houses a restaurant and hospitality facility, INTI – A Nikkei Experience, on the 20th floor.

Also linked to the building are Kimberly-Clark East Africa, the multinational manufacturer behind several global consumer brands, and Athena Properties, a company involved in Kenya’s real estate sector.
