Running a business often comes with financial demands, from restocking products and paying suppliers to expanding operations, purchasing equipment, or managing changes in demand.

To support entrepreneurs with different financial needs, Equity Bank offers a range of SME financing solutions designed to help businesses access funds for working capital, expansion, agriculture, investment projects, and construction.

The solutions target different categories of entrepreneurs, including small traders seeking quick cash flow support, farmers requiring production financing, groups investing collectively, and businesses undertaking long-term development projects.

Equity Bank’s SME financing options include Eazzy Loan, Seed Production Loan, Pamoja Biashara Loan, Chama Investment Loan, Construction Loan, and Development Loans.

  1. Mobile Loans

For entrepreneurs seeking fast access to funds, Equity Bank’s Mobile Loans offer a digital borrowing option that lets customers access credit without guarantors or paperwork.

The facility offers loan amounts ranging from KSh100 to KSh3 million, depending on the customer’s credit limit and ability to repay.

The funds are instantly available in the customer’s account, with repayment options available through one month or multiple monthly installments.

Customers must have had an active Equity Bank account for at least six months and channel income through the account, including salary, farm proceeds, or business income, to establish a credit limit.

Customers can access Equity’s Mobile Loans through their Equitel line by selecting My Money, Loans, Get Loan, choosing the loan type, selecting an account, entering the amount, and confirming details using their PIN.

Through the Equity Mobile App, customers can select Borrow, Get a Loan, choose the loan type, and enter the required amount.

The facility provides entrepreneurs with convenient access to financing without branch visits, guarantors, or lengthy paperwork.

  1. Seed Production Loan

Equity Bank’s Seed Production Loan finances production inputs and associated costs for medium- and large-scale seed grower farmers.

The short-term credit facility provides financing from a minimum of KSh50,000, with the maximum amount determined by the customer’s repayment ability.

The loan has a repayment period of up to 12 months depending on the crop cycle.

Farmers seeking the facility must be active Equity Bank account holders or willing to open and operate an account, demonstrate ability to repay, have experience in commercial seed growing, and provide evidence of previous production through sales records, receipts, banking history, or recommendations from seed multiplication companies.

Applicants must also have at least two acres of production land, contribute 30 percent of the total production cost either in cash or in kind, provide proof of ownership or a valid lease agreement, and submit a signed seed production agreement with the contracting company.

  1. Pamoja Biashara Loan

For small and micro-enterprises operating through groups, Equity Bank offers the Pamoja Biashara Loan to support business stocking and expansion.

The product targets entrepreneurs aged 18 and above who run small businesses or plan to start businesses through registered groups.

The facility provides loans of up to KSh10 million depending on repayment ability, with repayment periods of up to 36 months.

Eligible groups must have between 12 and 40 members, be registered with relevant government agencies, have a registered Equity Bank group account, and participate in business development training offered by the bank.

Individual members must operate or intend to start a micro-business, attend group meetings, maintain savings, and be willing to guarantee loans taken by other members.

The loan can be secured through savings, household assets, or group guarantees.

  1. Chama Investment Loan

Equity Bank’s Chama Investment Loan targets local entrepreneurs who operate in groups and want to invest collectively.

The facility supports projects such as land purchase, real estate development, movable asset financing, and working capital needs.

Groups can access financing of up to KSh100 million depending on their ability to repay, with repayment periods of up to 120 months based on the purpose of the loan.

To qualify, groups must have at least five members, ensure all members are over 18, provide proof of existence for at least two years, and be registered with relevant authorities as cooperatives, companies, or associations.

The product also provides access to financial education, entrepreneurship training, advisory services, and flexible repayment options.

  1. Construction Loan

Businesses looking to construct residential or commercial buildings can access Equity Bank’s Construction Loan.

The facility provides financing for construction projects up to 10 million with no maximum loan amount and offers flexible repayment terms with loan repayment periods of up to 10 years.

Applicants must be active Equity Bank account holders and demonstrate the ability to repay the loan.

Required documents include company registration documents, PIN certificates, directors’ identification documents, tax compliance certificates, annual returns, CR-12 documents and a board resolution approving borrowing.

  1. Development Loans

Equity Bank’s Development Loans finance businesses undertaking residential or commercial development projects.

The facility offers a loan tenure of up to five years and requires security.

Businesses applying for the facility must demonstrate repayment ability and provide relevant documentation, including company records, tax compliance details and proof of income.

The product supports business development through tailored financing solutions, valuation services, negotiated legal fees, competitive commitment fees, and advisory support.

Equity Bank Customer Support and Complaints Process

Customers with concerns about Equity Bank products and services can submit questions through any bank branch, the customer care centre, email or the bank’s official website.

The bank records customer feedback and provides a reference number for follow-up. The bank acknowledges complaints within 48 hours, and follows up with regular updates on cases that take longer to resolve.

Equity Bank says it aims to resolve complaints within seven working days, while keeping customers informed where additional time is required.
