Mexico vs South Africa, June 11th 10:00 pm

This is a repeat of the 2010 FIFA World Cup opening match in South Africa, which ended in a 1-1 draw at the FNB Stadium, with Siphiwe Tshabalala scoring an early goal.

Key players for Mexico include Raúl Jiménez and Santiago Giménez.

South Africa, on the other hand, will have to rely on Burnley striker Lyle Foster to lead their attack.

Mexico’s coach, Javier Aguirre Onaindia, has strong squad depth and will field his trusted first 11 to face Bafana Bafana in this crucial opening match.

Mexico will be playing at home, while South Africa will represent the African continent and will be eager to start strong.

South Africa should get a point or three if they want to keep their qualification to round 16 up in this tournament.

Morocco vs Brazil, June 14th 01:00 am

Morocco is Africa’s strongest team at the FIFA World Cup 2026, with star players like Achraf Hakimi, Brahim Diaz, Yassine Bounou and Noussair Mazraoui.

Brazil is a strong side that has won 5 World Cups and has a pool of talent that will give the former African Champions a hard test.

Neymar, a key player for Brazil, is likely to miss this fixture due to injury, but other stars like Vinicius Junior, Casemiro, and Matheus Cunha will be available to face Morocco.

Brazil are favorites heading into this match, but a draw or win for Morocco would send a strong message.

Ivory Coast vs Ecuador June 15th 02:00 am

Ivory Coast is a strong African team, with massive talent and experience to beat Ecuador in this match.

With star players like Amad Diallo, Nicholas Pepe, and Franck Kessie, Ivory Coast are the favorites going into this match.

A win in this opening match for Ivory Coast will boost their hopes of qualification to the next round.

Tunisia vs Sweden, June 15th 05:00 am

Sweden will be a tough test for Tunisia in their first match.

With Liverpool’s Alexander Isak leading the attack, Tunisia will have to be very disciplined to get something out of this match.

Sweden are the favorites in this fixture, but a draw or a miraculous win for Sabri Lamouchi’s side will boost qualification hopes for the African side.

Cape Verde vs Spain June 15th   7:00 pm

Spain boasts a massive talent, with stars like Lamine, Yamal, Gavi, Pedri and David Raya at their disposal.

Spain, ranked 2nd by FIFA, is a clear favorite in this fixture and is among the favorites in this tournament.

This will be a huge test for Pedro Brito’s, who has a FIFA ranking of 69.

Egypt vs Belgium June 15th 10:00 pm

Belgium will be a hard test for Egypt, but with talented and experienced players like Salah, Omar Marmoush, and Mohamed Elshenawy, they should be able to put up a fight against the European giants.

Egypt should be at their best when they face the Rudi Garcia’s side, which is star-studded, to force a point out of this match.

Belgium are the favorites in this match, but a technically disciplined performance from Egypt could yield something.

Senegal vs France June 16th 10:00 pm

France is among the favorites in this World Cup edition, with dangerous attackers like Kylian Mbappé and Michael Olise leading their attack.

Senegal has a strong squad depth that can limit France’s attack and pull a point or three from this match.

A win for Senegal against France will make a strong statement at this World Cup and boost their chances of qualifying for the round of 16.

Algeria vs Argentina June 17th 04:00 am

Algeria’s first match will be against the defending champions, Argentina. They face a team that has the world’s best player (Messi), supported by incredible players like Julian Alvarez, Rodrigo De Paul and Lautaro Martinez.

Riyad Mahrez will lead Algeria’s side in their opening match against Argentina, who are currently 1st in the FIFA rankings.

A win for Algeria will announce their presence in this tournament.

DRC Congo vs Portugal 17th, 8:00 pm

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal will face DRC Congo in their first match.

This match will be significant to DRC Congo’s run in this year’s World Cup.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes, and Vitinha are hard players to play against, and DRC should look for means to stop them if they want to get something out of this match.

Ghana vs Panama June 17th

With talents like Inaki Williams, Thomas Partey, and Jordan Ayew, this is a match Ghana can win and is probably the most favorable fixture on the list.

A win for Ghana will boost their qualification hopes, and they should go all out to get all 3 points.

Who Could Likely Become Africa’s Breakout Star?

Each World Cup produces a player whose reputation fades shortly after the tournament.

Hakimi is the continent’s biggest established star, but younger talents such as Amad Diallo, Omar Mourmush, Ismaila Sarr and Antoine Semenyo have the potential to emerge as global superstars.

Whether it’s Morocco putting up another historic run, Senegal targeting the knockout stages, or Egypt seeking continental glory, these players will carry the hopes of millions of fans across Africa.

Their performances will determine not only their nations’ fortunes but also Africa’s place in the story of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and years to come.
