Information, Communication and the Digital Economy Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo on Monday, June 26 awarded Gor Mahia KSh 3 million for winning the 2022/2023 Kenyan Premier League title.
As part of the reward, the CS promised the club a new state-of-the-art bus at the beginning of the new season.
CS Owallo while speaking during a luncheon with Gor Mahia players urged them to work hard and purpose to do well in the CAF Champions League
He further challenged the club’s leadership to develop structures to allow the team to achieve the much-needed growth.

Nonetheless, Ksh. 1M out of the awarded 3M will go to the playing unit, another 1M to the management, and 500,000 to the technical bench.

200,000 will go to Gor Mahia FC’s drivers while the remaining 300,000 will go to the team’s security.
Gor Mahia football club scored 4-1 against Nairobi City Stars in the final day of the campaign to pip Tusker to the title as they claimed a record 20th league crown.
