Liverpool Manager Jurgen Klopp has joined social media to ensure his ‘love affair’ with the Reds does not end when he leaves the “incredible” club after Sunday’s May 19 emotional farewell game against Wolverhampton.
Klopp will bring the curtain down on his remarkable nine-year reign when the final whistle blows at Anfield.
The German tactician established himself as a Liverpool legend by winning the club’s first Premier League title for 30 years in 2020.
The 56-year-old who has a strong bond with Liverpudlians unveiled his own Instagram account on Saturday May 18.
The account is called ‘Kloppo’ and labels him ‘the normal one’, in reference to former Chelsea and Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho’s self-styled ‘special one’ nickname.

Jurgen Klopp Shares a Farewell Video on Instagram
The Reds Manager on his newly launched Instagram account shared an emotional video addressing Liverpool fans.
“Dear Liverpudlians, we’re getting closer to the end. I would call it a love affair. From the first day, it was an absolutely incredible time,” Klopp said.
“I’ve wondered always that it feels like we write a story together and that’s how it feels today. It’s a good book. And if we read it in the future, we will have a smile on our face.”

Klopp spent the last week saying his goodbyes to staff around Anfield and the club’s training ground as his departure fast approaches.
“Leaving this incredible place is hard, but I want to stay in contact with you. And even when I’m not a social media guy, people told me social media helps with that. So, here we go. See you!” he added.
Klopp’s Managerial Role at Liverpool
The German arrived at Anfield after taking a short break from football following an impressive seven-year stay with Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga.
Dortmund reached the UEFA Champions League final in 2013 under Klopp’s guidance, losing to fellow German side Bayern Munich at Wembley Stadium.
On Thursday 8 October 2015, Liverpool announced Klopp as Brendan Rodgers’ replacement at Anfield.
He led the Reds to the UEFA Europa League final in 2015/16 and the UEFA Champions League final in 2017/18, although both matches ended in defeat.

He was back in the Champions League final the following season and guided his side to a 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
Liverpool chased a quadruple in 2021-22, winning the domestic double of League Cup and FA Cup on penalties against Chelsea.
Klopp’s “heavy metal” style of play – a term Klopp himself used to describe a form of soccer that is in-your-face, intense and based around quick counterattacking play – brought the good times back to a club which was in desperate need of a new direction.
