Kenya is set to make a historic mark in world rugby as the 2026 HSBC World Rugby Sevens Division 2 kicks off in Nairobi.
The event, slated for February 14-February 15, will feature Kenya’s national rugby teams, Shujaa (men) and Lionesses (women), as well as other world teams competing under the vibrant campaign theme #LoveAtFirstTry.

Kenya’s Shujaa, under the leadership of the head coach Kevin Wambua, named the 12-man squad that will represent Kenya in the tournament
The team will be captained by George Ooro, and Samuel Asati as the assistant captain.

HSBC SVNS Series
Kenya is hosting the first leg of the HSBC Sevens Series Division 2, where twelve teams – six men’s and six women’s squads will compete over the weekend.
After Nairobi, the second outing will be held in Montevideo, Uruguay, on March 21-22, before the final that will take place in Sao Paulo, Brazil, from March 28-29.
