The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has released a five-day weather forecast for the period from April 1 to April 5, 2025. Kenya Met forecast comes at a time when heavy rainfall has been witnessed in various parts of the country, including Nairobi and its environs.
According to the weatherman, rainfall is expected to continue in several regions. However, most places are projected to receive less rain, and some areas may not experience any rainfall at all.

In the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, which includes Nairobi, Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, and Tharaka Nithi counties, temperatures will range from a minimum of 9°C to a maximum of 29°C.
The Kenya Met also predicts that some areas in this region will be mostly cloudy during the morning, but the sun is likely to emerge at times, except on Friday, April 4, when there is a chance of rain in a few places.

Kenya Met List Regions to Continue Receiving Rainfall in April
These conditions will alternate with afternoon showers and occasional nighttime showers in limited areas.
Additionally, the Kenya Met has indicated that the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley regions will continue to experience heavy rainfall.

This region includes the counties of Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, and West Pokot.

The forecast indicates that afternoon showers and thunderstorms are likely to occur in several areas throughout the period, while rainy conditions are expected in a few places during the mornings, except on Thursday, April 3, and Saturday, April 5. Some areas may also experience nighttime showers.
The average minimum nighttime temperature is expected to drop to around 10°C, while daytime temperatures are forecasted to rise to 31°C.
Forecast for Other Regions
The southeastern lowlands, which include Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, Kajiado, Taita-Taveta, and Tana River counties, will see minimum temperatures of 14°C and maximum temperatures reaching up to 35°C. According to the Kenya Met, sunny intervals are expected in the mornings, except on Friday, April 4, when a chance of rain exists in a few areas, while afternoon showers are also anticipated.
Furthermore, Kenya Met indicated that alternating rains and showers are expected during the day in a few places within Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Isiolo counties.

Skies are likely to remain partly cloudy, with the possibility of showers in some areas at night. Kenya Met warned that the average maximum daytime temperatures in these counties could exceed 38°C.
In the coastal counties of Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale, as well as the coastal parts of Tana River, morning, afternoon, and nighttime showers are expected throughout the period. The average maximum daytime temperature is anticipated to reach 35°C, while the minimum nighttime temperature may drop to 23°C.
In Northwestern Kenya, specifically Turkana and Samburu counties, sunny intervals are expected in both the morning and afternoon throughout the forecast period, while nighttime conditions will remain partly cloudy.
