The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has released a five-day weather forecast covering the period from June 3 to June 7, 2025. According to Kenya Met, rainfall is expected to continue in some areas of the Eastern Highlands, which includes Nairobi County and its surroundings. Additionally, rain is anticipated in the Western Highlands of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Central Rift Valley, and the Coast.
Strong southerly to southeasterly winds, with speeds exceeding 25 knots (approximately 12.86 m/s), are expected over the Coast (including Kenya’s territorial waters), southeastern lowlands, northeastern, and northwestern regions of Kenya.
In the Western Highlands of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and the Rift Valley, morning weather is expected to be sunny throughout the forecast period, except for Tuesday, June 3, when rain is expected in a few locations.
Kenya Met Highlights Regions Expected to Receive Rainfall
During the afternoon, showers and thunderstorms may occur in some areas during the entire forecast period. Nighttime showers are also anticipated in a few places during the first half of the forecast.
Night temperatures are expected to range from 9°C to 13°C, while daytime temperatures will range from 28°C to 30°C. The counties in these regions include Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, and West Pokot.

In the Eastern Highlands of the Rift Valley (which includes Nairobi County), a chance of rain is expected in a few places during the morning, while afternoon and nighttime showers are also anticipated. Minimum nighttime temperatures will range from 5°C to 8°C, with maximum daytime temperatures reaching 27°C.
This region encompasses the counties of Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, and Tharaka Nithi.
Other Regions
In the Northeastern region, including the counties of Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Isiolo, sunny intervals are expected in the morning and afternoon. At night, the weather is forecasted to be partly cloudy. The maximum daytime temperature is expected to reach 37°C, while the minimum nighttime temperature will be around 10°C.
In the Northwestern region, which includes Turkana and Samburu counties, sunny intervals are expected in both the morning and afternoon. During the night, the weather will be partly cloudy for the first half of the forecast period, with a chance of showers in the latter part.

The southeastern lowlands, covering Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado, Taita Taveta, and inland parts of Tana River County, will experience cloudy weather that will break into sunny intervals in the morning.
In the afternoon, sunny intervals are expected for half of the forecast period, with a chance of showers in the latter half. Nighttime weather is predicted to be partly cloudy. Daytime temperatures are expected to reach 30°C, while minimum nighttime temperatures will be around 10°C.
In the coastal region, light showers are expected in the morning, afternoon, and evening. The counties included in this region are Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, Kwale, and the coastal parts of Tana River.
