Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has defended the ongoing U.S.-Israel strike on Iran.
Speaking to Fox News host Sean Hannity on March 3, 2026, Netanyahu emphasized that the action was necessary to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons and long-range missile capabilities.
The Israeli Prime Minister further argued that Tehran’s nuclear ambitions and hostile posture toward the United States and Israel make it a more serious threat than North Korea.
Iran is a Bigger Threat Than North Korea
In the interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity, Netanyahu defended the US and Israeli focus on Iran’s armament, describing Tehran as “50 North Koreas”.
The Israeli leader further warned that Iran was committed to America’s destruction.

According to the prime minister, Iran is more powerful than North Korea, and any negligence could lead to more destruction.
“Iran is 50 North Koreas. Iran is committed to your destruction,” stated Netanyahu.
Netanyahu argued that the international community’s failure to curb North Korea’s nuclear and missile programmes in the past decades should serve as a caution.
“Nobody stopped North Korea, so they now have ballistic missiles and nuclear warheads, but they don’t say ‘Death to America’,” Netanyahu said.
The prime minister also emphasized that, although the campaign may continue for some time, he did not believe it would escalate into a protracted, years-long conflict.
Speaking of the strikes, he said they were “quick and decisive,” designed to prevent Tehran from reaching a point where it could unleash conventional or nuclear attacks against American or Israeli targets.
Strikes During Israel-Iran War
Earlier, Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee said Air Force jets struck and eliminated a group of air defense personnel affiliated with Iran who were allegedly preparing to target Israeli aircraft.
In a statement via X, the Spokesperson noted that Israeli aircraft are continuing sustained operations against Iranian air defense infrastructure, including launch platforms, missiles, and radar systems.
“Air Force eliminates soldiers from the air defense system in the Iranian terrorist regime,” he posted.
According to the spokesperson, the Israeli military will not allow Iran to activate systems intended to target its aircraft and will continue striking efforts to arm missile launchers.
In parallel, the Air Force is also targeting facilities linked to fire-control systems and Iranian ballistic missile launch platforms.

Operation Epic Fury
The US and Israel have maintained that the Operation Epic Fury aimed at crippling Iran’s ability to produce nuclear material and develop long-range delivery systems.
The operation began with a series of coordinated air and missile strikes by U.S. and Israeli forces against Iranian nuclear, military, and missile infrastructures.
So far, the attacks have led to the killing of several Iranian officials, including Ali Khamenei, IRGC Commander-in-Chief Mohammad Pakpour, and security adviser Ali Shamkhani.
Iran responded with waves of ballistic missiles and drones targeting U.S. and allied military positions across the Middle East, including bases in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Kuwait.
