Russia has launched another wave of overnight drone and missile attacks on several Ukrainian cities, causing damage to homes and key infrastructures.
The strikes come as the war enters its 1,450th day since the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr has confirmed that during the night attack, 219 drones were launched, mainly Shaheds, along with 25 missiles, 24 of them ballistic.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has ruled out holding elections without a ceasefire and announced new steps toward securing international guarantees for Ukraine’s safety.
Russia’s latest attack leaves civilians and minors injured
According to the Ukrainian Army, Russia launched overnight strikes on the night of February 12.

They used Shahed drones and missiles across the cities, causing destruction and casualties.
In the Kyiv region, several districts were affected by ballistic missile strikes, damaging private buildings and vehicles.
In Dnipro, residential buildings and parked cars were damaged after explosions rocked the city. Four people were injured, including a baby and a 4-year-old girl, and were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Odesa was also hit, with a nine-story residential building and an energy facility sustaining damage.
Power supplies in some areas were disrupted, adding to residents’ hardships during cold weather.
According to a Ukrainian official, Russia continues to target civilian areas and vital services in an effort to disrupt daily life in Ukraine.
“The main target of the strike was the energy infrastructure in Kyiv, Odesa, and Dnipro – generation facilities and substations. There is damage in Kharkiv, Donetsk, Kyiv, and Kherson regions. In Kramatorsk, a drone struck a building belonging to the State Emergency Service. The situation in the capital is difficult; many buildings remain without heating,” said Zelenskyy.
Zelenskyy Rules Out Elections Without Peace
Following the latest Russian attacks on Ukraine, Zelenskyy said that Ukraine will hold Elections once a ceasefire is met with the rival country, Russia, and that the country cannot hold elections without peace.
The ongoing attacks, security risks, and the displacement of millions of people make it impossible to organize elections and safe voting.
“We will move to elections when all the necessary security guarantees are in place. I have said it’s very simple to do, establish a ceasefire, and there will be elections.” Said Zelenskyy, speaking to reporters on Wednesday.

New Push for International Security Guarantees
At the same time, Zelenskyy has implemented a decision by the National Security and Defense Council to strengthen Ukraine’s long-term security.
Under the decision, the Foreign Ministry and Defense Ministry have been instructed to urgently prepare draft international agreements on security guarantees.
These agreements are based on past and ongoing talks among the Ukrainian delegation, the United States, other international partners, and Russian representatives.
The goal is to secure firm commitments that would help protect Ukraine from future attacks.
