U.S. President Donald Trump had a phone call with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday.
Trump on Truth Social revealed that the two had an excellent call.
“I have just completed an excellent telephone conversation with President Xi Jinping of China,” stated Trump.
The discussion covered several global issues, including trade, military, and war between Russia and Ukraine, and the situation in Iran.
Earlier, Xi had a video call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and details of the call have not been revealed.
Trade deals between the U.S. and China
During the conversation, President Trump and President Xi addressed several key trade topics.

According to Trump, China is reportedly considering increasing its purchase of U.S. agricultural products, including raising soybean imports to 20 million tons for the current season, with a commitment to 25 million tons next season.
The leaders also discussed other trade deals, including exports, energy purchases, and airplane engine deliveries, signaling the good relations between the two nations.
“The purchase of Oil and Gas by China from the United States, the consideration by China of the purchase of additional Agricultural products, including lifting the Soybean count to 20 Million Tons for the current season. They have committed to 25 Million Tons for next season, Airplane engine deliveries,” said Trump.
U.S – China Diplomatic Relationship
China has also revealed that the two leaders discussed major summits that both nations will host in the coming year, and present opportunities for the two leaders to potentially meet.
Trump has also reaffirmed that the relationship between the US and China is extremely good and hopes for good results during his presidency. He also said that he will be visiting Beijing in April.
“The relationship with China, and my personal relationship with President Xi, is an extremely good one, and we both realize how important it is to keep it that way. I believe that there will be many positive results achieved over the next three years of my Presidency, having to do with President Xi, and the People’s Republic of China,” added Trump.
The conversation also addressed military matters and geopolitical issues, including Taiwan, the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, and developments in Iran. Trump said both leaders recognized the importance of maintaining stability in the region and ensuring that dialogue continues on sensitive security issues.

Chinese government has also made clear that it has no intention of stepping away from its long-term plans of reunification with Taiwan.
Iran Conditionally Agrees to Talks with US.
Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump said Washington was negotiating with Iran but declined to say where the talks were taking place, adding that they were hopeful about the outcome.
Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian announced that he had opened the door to talks with the United States, but only under conditions that protect Iran’s national interests.
In a statement, Pezeshkian said he has instructed Iran’s Foreign Minister to prepare for negotiations, provided there is a suitable environment free from threats and from what he described as unreasonable demands.
