Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has hailed the growing effectiveness of Ukraine’s long-range strike capabilities and praised the country’s Security Service (SBU) for its intensified efforts on the battlefield.
Zelenskyy said that Ukrainian special forces are now eliminating more than 100 Russian troops every day in a key eastern front.
In a statement on October 8, Zelenskyy said he received a detailed report from Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Chief Vasyl Maliuk on ongoing combat operations and recent long-range drone and missile strikes conducted by Ukrainian forces.
He noted that these precision attacks have been increasingly successful in destroying Russian air defense systems and disrupting enemy logistics.
“I would like to especially acknowledge the warriors of the Center of Special Operations ‘A’ of the Security Service of Ukraine, who are conducting active operations in the Pokrovsk sector,” Zelenskyy said. “We note that Russian troops have been ordered to storm our positions at all costs. As a result, Russian losses have increased substantially.”
Zelenskyy Eliminating 100 Russian Soldiers Every Day
According to Zelenskyy, the special forces in the Pokrovsk sector alone are eliminating over 100 Russian soldiers daily, with a verified total of 3,028 enemy combatants neutralized over the past month.
These figures exclude the losses inflicted by other branches of Ukraine’s defense and security forces.
The Ukrainian leader also confirmed that operations targeting Russian intelligence networks are ongoing and that he has approved additional missions aimed at weakening Moscow’s military potential.
“The Security Service of Ukraine continues its work to neutralize Russian agent networks. We continue to do everything to ensure our forces remain effective and that Russia’s capacity for aggression continues to shrink,” Zelenskyy added.
The Pokrovsk sector has recently seen some of the most intense fighting on the eastern front, with Russian forces attempting to gain ground despite mounting casualties.
“Glory to Ukraine!” Zelenskyy concluded.
