The Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) has announced this year’s Graduate Engineers Internship Program (GEIP) and invited applications from qualified and interested candidates.
According to the board, the structured program, set to run for 36 months, aims to equip young engineers with the hands-on skills necessary for professional practice.
Under the mandate of the Engineers Act, 2011, the EBK is responsible for the registration and regulation of engineers and engineering firms.
One of its key functions is to facilitate the continuing professional development and training of graduate engineers.
Qualifications for Intern Engineers
The internship program is designed for candidates who meet the following qualifications:
Registered as a graduate engineer by EBK within the last two years.
Additionally, be available for the entire duration of the internship and should not be currently employed in any capacity.
To promote diversity and gender equality, the EBK encouraged applications from persons living with disabilities, women, and individuals from marginalized areas.
How to Apply
Interested candidates must submit their applications by Friday, August 2, 2024, at 5 p.m. EAT.
Applications are exclusively online via the EBK website.
Prospective interns should log on to www.ebk.go.ke, navigate to the Training and Development tab, and “Sign up” to create an account then submit your application.

Successful applicants will be required to provide additional documentation, including:
– Valid personal accident and medical insurance covers.
– Certificate of Good Conduct.
– Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
– Kenya Revenue Authority PIN Certificate.
The EBK further stressed that no fees are charged for the application process, and only successful applicants will be contacted.
