Kameme FM news anchor Njogu wa Wachira has been summoned by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
In a statement on Tuesday, Njogu- who previously served as a Director of the ICT Authority Board, said he was summoned to appear before the commission on May 27.
The attached letter from EACC showed that Njogu was summoned over his alleged involvement in the irregular renewal of the contract of the ICT Authority CEO, Stanley Kamanguya.
“The Commission pursuant to its constitutional and statutory mandate as set out in inter-alia under Article 252(1) (a) (d) of the Constitution, Section 11 of EACC Act, 2011 and Section 4 (2) and Section 42 (10) of the Leadership and Integrity Act, 2012, is investigating allegations of irregular contract renewal for the Chief Executive Officer, ICT Authority- Stanley Kamanguya.”

In his response, the former director alleged that there is a plot to force CEO Stanley Kamanguya from office. The Kameme FM news anchor added that ICT Cabinet Secretary William Kabogo had already signed to approve the contract renewal.
To divulge the details of Kamanguya’s contract, Wachira explained that all board directors of the ICT Authority had approved renewal of his contract, a move he says was against the wishes of some “power mandarins”.
In addition, Njogu Wachira says that ICT Cabinet Secretary William Kabogo has already approved the renewal of Kamanguya’s contract.

“CS Kabogo went ahead to append his signature board resolutions for that renewal having satisfied himself that we followed the right process. There is now an orchestrated scheme to hound from office this CEO who hails from Nyeri County,” Wachira wrote.
“I bring to the attention of all govt allied MPs from central Kenya that CEO Kamanguya is about to be hounded out of office as you either feign ignorance or better still, cheer on,” part of the statement by Wachira read.
“The fidelity to the rule of law that the board and Waziri Kabogo exercised is on the verge of defilement through arm-twisting of various agencies. Even after the removal, I will record my statement and state the process as it were.”
