Edith Vethi Nyenze is a Kenyan politician and the current Member of Parliament for Kitui West Constituency.
She entered politics following the death of her husband, the late Francis Nyenze, and won the seat in a by-election held on 26 March 2018, securing 72% of the vote.
Vethi represents the Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) party.
She has served two terms as the MP for Kitui West, having been re-elected in the 2022 general elections.

Edith Vethi earned a Diploma in Education from Kenya Science Teachers College, studying from 1992 to 1994.
She later advanced her academic credentials by achieving a Bachelor of Commerce (Human Resource Management) degree at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa between 2004 and 2006.
To enhance her leadership skills, she completed an Executive MBA at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology over the period 2008 to 2009.
She then broadened her expertise internationally, earning a Graduate Diploma in Purchasing and Supply in the United Kingdom between 2009 and 2013.
Career life
Nyenze began her professional career in the field of education.
From 1996 to 2000, she served under the Teachers Service Commission as a High School Teacher and rose to become Headmistress of Kyondoni Girls Secondary School.
In 2000, she transitioned into the corporate sector, joining the Retirement Benefits Authority, where she held key management roles.
From 2000 to 2017, she worked as Human Resource Manager and later as Procurement Manager, leading strategic staff and procurement operations.

Her foray into elective politics began in March 2018, when she was elected as the Member of Parliament for Kitui West Constituency in a by-election following the passing of her husband.
She served continuously and was re-elected in 2022. During her first term (2018–2022), she took on parliamentary leadership roles, serving as a member of both the Finance & National Planning Committee (2018–2022) and the Committee on Delegated Legislation (2019–2022).
