Former acting Social Health Authority (SHA) CEO Robert Ingasira is among nine people shortlisted for the Managing Director position at the New Kenya Co-operative Crematories (KCC).
In a notice dated Thursday, September 25, 2025, the New KCC highlighted the nine candidates along with the date and time of the interview.
“Following the advertisement for the position of Managing Director published on July 1, 2025, the shortlisting process has concluded. New KCC is pleased to publish the names and interview schedule of the shortlisted candidates as follows:” Read the notice.
Former SHA CEO Robert Ingasira Shortlisted for New KCC MD Post
According to the notice, the interview for the MD position is scheduled for Thursday, October 2, 2025.
Robert Ingasira served as acting CEO of the Social Health Authority (SHA) for approximately five months.
He was appointed on November 12, 2024, following the suspension of Elijah Wachira on a 90-day mandatory leave, and served until April 11, 2025, when Dr. Mercy Mwangangi was appointed as the permanent CEO.
The former SHA CEO has a background in the financial sector, which has led him to several roles in various financial organizations.

Before assuming the role of acting CEO, Robert worked as the Director of Financial Services at the Kenya National Health Insurance Fund, which later transitioned to SHA.
Prior to being appointed NHIF Director of Financial Services, Robert served as the General Manager of the Kenya Deposit Insurance Corporation.
He also worked as Chief Manager of Finance and Administration at the Privatization Commission of Kenya.
Additionally, Robert has worked for notable organizations, including the Competition Authority of Kenya, the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, the Kenya Revenue Authority, and the Kenya Industrial Research and Development Institute.
The financial expert holds an MBA with a focus on Finance from Moi University. Robert also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Nairobi.
Besides the former SHA CEO, other notable individuals shortlisted for the New KCC MD position include Joseph Malel Choge, former Managing Director of UNGA; Victor Lomaria, former Managing Director of the Kenya Literature Bureau (KLB); and Samuel Kamindu Ichura, who served as the Acting Managing Director of the New Kenya Co-operative Cremeries (KCC).
Ichura assumed this interim leadership role following Nixon Sigey’s departure and served until September 2024, when the position was re-advertised.
Other candidates include Hussein Adan Mohamed, Dr. Linah C. Boit, Moses Kithinji Njagi, Ruchard Wandana Kibengo, and Dr. Charles Mwirigi.
About New KCC
New KCC is a Kenyan government corporation and a key player in the country’s dairy sector, responsible for purchasing, processing, and distributing milk and milk products.
It was established to take over the collapsed Kenya Cooperative Creameries (KCC). The company serves as a stable market for farmers, a means to regulate prices, and a vehicle to promote the dairy industry through farmer support, technological upgrades, and the development of new products.

The New Kenya Cooperative Creameries was established in 2003 to assume the assets and management of the financially troubled Kenya Cooperative Creameries (KCC), which had collapsed in 1999.
It was later incorporated under the Companies Act with 100% government ownership in 2004.
