The Ministry of Education has ordered the immediate closure of Narok Adventist Primary and Junior Secondary School following the death of a 14-year-old boy under unclear circumstances on Sunday.
Narok County Director of Education, Apollo Apuko, stated that the school will remain closed while the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) investigates the matter.
He appealed to parents to remain calm and allow authorities time to establish the cause and motive behind the incident.
“We are closing this institution today, and we don’t expect any students to be here. We leave the matter to the DCI,” said Apuko.
According to a police report, the Grade Nine pupil’s body was found in the students’ dormitory with visible signs of struggle and visible injuries.
