Communications Strategist and political analyst Odhiambo Otieno has warned Nyanza leaders who have relied on the late Raila Odinga to secure victories in past elections.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Nixon Njau of The Kenya Times, Otieno predicted that around 20 Members of Parliament (MPs) from the Nyanza region will lose their seats in the 2027 elections, as their political careers have heavily depended on Odinga’s influence to obtain party tickets.
Additionally, Otieno urged such leaders to prepare for defeat and go home since the 2027 politics will be about strategy, data, and the people.
Otieno further noted that many of these Nyanza MPs have faced multiple defeats in party primaries but have consistently secured party tickets through Odinga’s support.
