Nick Mutuma is a Kenyan actor, producer, director, emcee, musician, and radio host whose career has spanned over a decade across film, television, and media.
Born on September 22, 1988, in Meru, Kenya, Nick grew up between Tanzania and Kenya, experiences that shaped his diverse cultural outlook.
Education
Nick began his education at the International School of Tanganyika in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
He later moved to Nairobi, where he joined Braeside School, part of the Braeburn Group of International Schools, completing his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
In 2005, he enrolled at the United States International University (USIU) in Nairobi, where he pursued a bachelor’s degree in international business administration.
He graduated in 2010, setting the stage for his career both in business and entertainment.

Personal Life
Nick has been in the public eye not only for his career but also for his personal life. He previously dated Kenyan musician Tanasha Donna until their breakup in 2017.
Later, he entered into a relationship with actress Bridget Shighadi, and together they have a daughter, Dua Mutuma
Mutuma’s Career
Nick Munene Mutuma’s acting journey began in 2008 when he was cast in the first season of the MTV-backed series Shuga, playing the role of Luka.
His standout performance quickly put him in the spotlight. He played the role in the show’s second and third seasons in 2009 and 2012, cementing his reputation as one of Kenya’s most promising young actors.
His first major television role came when he joined Tabasamu on Citizen TV, where he portrayed Luka.
Over time, Nick transitioned into bigger projects that propelled him from local productions to international screens.
He has featured in several notable films and series, including “How to Find a Husband” as Leo, “Disconnect” (2016) as Josh, and “This Is It” (2016, web series), where he served as both an actor and producer.
In Ma’Empress (2018, Showmax) he played a supporting role, Sincerely Daisy (2020, Netflix), he portrayed Jay, 40 Sticks (2020, Netflix), he played Kifaru, and in Shuga (2023) he had the role of a narrator.
In addition to acting, Nick has also made a name as a host. He presented the youth entertainment show on 98.4 Capital FM in 2010 and later hosted Mashariki Mix, a lifestyle and culture TV show that aired across Africa in 2013.
Venturing into music, Nick released two singles: “254 Anthem” in 2013, featuring Shaffie Weru and Lyra Aoko, and “That Life” in 2018, featuring Cool Kid Taffie.
While his music career was short-lived, it added another dimension to his artistic journey.

Awards and Nominations
Nick Mutuma’s contribution to film and television has earned him several awards.
In 2018, he won the Best Lead Actor award at the Kalasha Film and TV Awards for his role in Disconnect. Earlier, he had been named Best Actor at the Chaguo La Teeniez Awards.
His performances have also earned him nominations at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), including Best Actor in a Drama Series for Shuga, and Best Supporting Actor for How to Find a Husband.
At the Kalasha Film and TV Awards, he also received nominations for Best Actor in a Drama Series.
From his breakout role in Shuga, Nick Mutuma has grown into one of Kenya’s most recognizable entertainers.
