Ole Tipis Girls School is a public national secondary school for girls located in Narok County. Founded in 1980, the school has grown significantly since its establishment.
The ‘A’ level stream at Ole Tipis was phased out in 1989 when Kenya’s education system changed to the 8-4-4 system. Since then, admissions at the school were based on performance in the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination.
This was, however, replaced in 2023 by the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA), introduced under the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) framework.
Each year, over 300 students are admitted to the institution based on academic merit and individual choice, in line with the Ministry of Education’s policy. Ole Tipis has consistently expanded in both size and academic performance throughout the years.
