Kalonzo Musyoka has officially withdrawn his candidature for the country’s top seat in the August, 9 2022 General Election.
Through a press statement released on Friday, June 3, the Wiper Democratic Movement stated that Kalonzo will not be presenting his documents to the IEBC on June 4 as was earlier planned.
Kalonzo’s official withdrawal from the Presidential bid comes a day after he declared his support for Azimio’s Presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga.
The wiper boss had on Thursday, June 2 publicly accepted the chief minister position that was allocated to him in the Azimio-OKA government structure and applauded Narc-Kenya Party leader Martha Karua for clinching the running mate position in the alliance, promising to support her.
Nonetheless, Kalonzo Musyoka’s official withdrawal, means that he will not face IEBC in the ongoing vetting of Presidential candidates.
