Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka now says Kenya should revert back to a total manual system of voting.
Speaking on Thursday, Kalonzo said manual voting will ensure that “his vote and those of his grandchildren stand for something”.
“Going forward I want to go to the old school”.
“I want my vote and that of my children and grandchildren to stand for something. Where they can vote, go home and expect the right outcome to be announced,” he told TV47 in an interview.
Kalonzo wants Parliament to re-look at the issue of manual voting, saying that even with the digital voting system, results take almost the same number of days to be finalized.
“There was a lot of disagreement about this matter of electronic voting. We need to revisit this”.
“The National Assembly and Senate need to revisit this. Let’s go back to manual voting because it took almost the same time to get presidential results” he said.

According to Kalonzo, Kenyans have lost faith in the electoral system of the country, claiming that no one has a reason to participate in any election going forward.
This, the Wiper Leader says is largely because their votes don’t count.
“Nobody has a reason now to go and vote in 2027 if your vote does not count.
“If your vote can be hijacked and put somewhere in a server and the Supreme Court says open the server and Smartmatic somewhere says Intellectual property right. In other words, Smartmatic overruled the Supreme Court of Kenya. What does that tell you?” Kalonzo added.
Kenya employs a hybrid system of voting that combines both manual and electronic.
Voter identification is done electronically while ballot casting is done manually.
Vote counting is also done manually with result transmission being done electronically.
