Sensational musical icon Jose Chameleon has heeded the advice of former Health Minister Mike Mukula and publicly apologized for kissing his brother on the lips during their recent performance, Gwanga Mujje, at Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala.
Chameleon shared a lengthy video on his Facebook page owning up to his mistakes and asking his fans to forgive him. In the video’s caption on Facebook, the musician admits being caught up in the heat of the moment and vows not to let the act repeat itself in the future.
“My sincere apologies to the general republic. weasel and I are brothers and family men. We were caught up in the heat of the moment. as African men, we respect African values and morals. The act is regrettable and should not have happened and will never happen again. On behalf of the Mayanja family, and I kindly apologize; thank you.”

In the video, Chameleon thanks his fans for the massive support during the concert before apologizing for what he terms as a ‘deed’ between him and his brother.
“I wish to use this opportunity to also apologize to my fans and friends for the deed me and Weasel shared on stage. I know most of my friends are really offended and didn’t carry it lightly.”
The singer further explained that the regrettable deed was a result of excitement and energy
“I sincerely apologize. It was just too much energy, excitement. I actually regret it.”
He also apologized on behalf of his brother Weasel and admitted that the kiss was the wrong way of sharing high energy with him was the wrong way.
“The energy was so high, and it was just the wrong way to share it with Weasel, my brother, and I also apologize on behalf of him. Thank you so much for accepting my apologies”.
His apology comes amidst the hot LGBTQ discussions in Uganda, with the country’s legislation planning what seems to be new stricter laws on the subject.
