A woman allegedly killed her two children in Kirinyanga County moments after picking them up from school.
It was reported that the woman drowned her two children in a swamp in the Ndia area on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.
Locals present at the scene said the woman picked one of the children from a nearby nursery school moments before the incident.
According to a man who spoke to the media, the woman asked for permission, stating that they were supposed to attend a burial ceremony.
Afterwards, she went with both children to the swamp and threw them into the pool of water.
“She went to the school where one of her kids was studying and asked the teachers to give her the kid, stating that they were supposed to attend a burial.
She was given the child, then she came with both of them and threw them in this swamp,” the resident explained.

Another resident said the woman drowned the kids, stating he confirmed the bodies himself. The man maintained that he knew the children personally since he was very close to the family.
“I heard that the woman took her two kids and drowned them in this swamp here. When the bodies were found, they had already died,” he said.
“We came here to confirm, and we have found that it is true because I know these children and we were very close to them. I knew them very well and they are not just people I was told about after the incident.”
