A newly imported Range Rover Vogue has crashed head on into a canter in an accident along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway.
The grisly accident has taken place at the Maji ya Chumvi area on Tuesday, August 27, early morning.
According to witnesses, the vehicle was speeding along the highway moments before the accident.
Residents and well-wishers rushed to the scene to help save the lives of the casualties.

Details of the Accident and Scene
Images of the accident scene show the black Range Rover completely damaged at the front all the way to the passenger seat.
Additionally, the windows were crushed, seats damaged, and two front tyres completely torn off from the vehicle.
The green number plate on the range rover was still mounted above a foreign number plate, indicating that it had just been shipped into the country.
On the other hand, the green canter was overturned at a distance off the road, with the upper part completely crushed.
The windshield was shattered and some of its tyres had been torn off from the vehicle.
However, there was no sign of any casualties as first responders and police had already rushed to the scene.

Previously Reported accidents and NTSA Data
Earlier on August 25, five people died in an accident involving multiple vehicles including an oil tanker, tractor and Probox along the Eldoret-Malaba Highway.
The oil tanker was heading for the Malaba border, the Probox vehicle was travelling from Busia while the tractor carried hardcore building materials.
The police said the oil tanker which was reportedly speeding hit the tractor before crashing into an oncoming Probox vehicle.
According to the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), road crashes in Kenya claimed at least 2,407 lives between January and July 7, 2024,
Out of this, 6,083 people were seriously injured, and 4,083 sustained minor injuries.
The fatalities included 919 pedestrians, 210 drivers, 478 passengers, 199 pillion passengers, 46 pedal cyclists, and 555 motorcyclists.
Additionally, the authority noted that most of the accidents recorded in the first week of July occurred between 3 pm and 11 pm with the peak being at 9pm.
Saturday, Monday and Sunday were noted to have the highest fatalities at 21, 18 and 15 respectively.
