Families are set to benefit from structured funeral financial support under Britam’s Heshima Farewell Plan, a micro-insurance product designed to cover burial and related expenses arising from natural or accidental death.
Launched in partnership with Montezuma Funeral Home, the plan offers not just a cash benefit but also a complete funeral service package.
Depending on the selected cover, families are assisted with key arrangements such as mortuary services; transport by hearse to any destination across the country; provision of a casket, wreaths, and floral decorations; portrait production; obituary services; funeral programs; and chapel arrangements.
Eligibility for the Heshima Farewell Plan requires the applicant and spouse to be between 18 and 70 years of age at entry, with the policy remaining renewable up to an exit age of 80 years.
Children may be covered from as young as one month up to 18 years, while those aged between 18 and 25 years can only be included if they are in school or college, with proof of student status required.
Parents and parents-in-law may also be included, provided they are not above the maximum entry age of 80 years, with cover ending at 85 years.
The extended family option is only available to registered groups with a minimum of 50 members.
