2 Watchmen Disappear with Quickmart’s Ksh94.9M

The duo including a driver and a Commander from the Security Firm disappeared with the Ksh 94 million in cash.

Two watchmen on Monday, November 6, disappeared with Ksh.94,918,750 that was collected from Quickmart supermarket

The two Wells Fargo Security Firm employees, including a driver and a Commander from the Security Firm disappeared with the Ksh 94 million in cash.

 According to reports the money was headed to a local bank in the Central Business District which was to later be dispatched to a supermarket outlet.

Also, a police report stated that the suspects, identified as Anthony Ndiuki the driver, and Charles Mugetha left the company’s offices in South C at around 8.30 a.m. 

The two, who were on board the company’s vehicle, left without police escort, as is the norm, getting away with Quickmart Supermarkets weekend sales in cash.

Police Trace Vehicle to South C

Likewise, according to police reports, the motor vehicle used in committing the fraud was found dumped at Dafam area in South C, next to the southern bypass.

However, upon searching the vehicle, police reported no trace of the money

“The said motor vehicle was found dumped at Dafam area South C, next to the southern bypass, without the suspects and the money missing,” reads a police statement. 

Meanwhile the Officer Commanding Station in Langata visited the scene confirming the incident.

He also noted that detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation office in Langata have kicked off investigations into the incident.

Recent Arrests on Robbery

Likewise, earlier on September 29, Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) recovered Ksh10 million worth of stolen shipment from a truck driver who was attempting to steal the goods.

DCI stated that the driver of the container transporting the products may have collaborated with the thieves.

According to a police report, the truck driver intentionally diverted the goods failing to deliver them to the intended destination.

Zimmerman Robbery

Similarly, in late October, a suspect was arrested by Zimmerman police officers in a twist of events after he presented himself to report that he had lost Ksh23,750.

According to the officers, a mob had earlier attacked the man for attempting to steal from another individual outside a workshop in the Carwash area within Kasarani.

However, the man screamed, put up a struggle and caught the attention of others who were working in the area.

In a twist of events, the suspect went to the police station to report that he was in fact the victim, and the man had stolen several items from him.

While pursuing the matter, the police officers learnt that the man was not telling the truth. Further they realized that he was working with others to rob unsuspecting residents in different areas in Nairobi.
