A truck belonging to Kengen has been involved in a fatal accident in the Keroche area in Nakuru County.
According to witnesses, the truck veered off the road and collided with two other vehicles.
Additionally, the other two vehicles crushed in the accidents include a Matatu that was ferrying passengers and a Prado TX.
The electricity generating company was transporting an unknown heavy metal which rolled off following the accident.
Police officers arrived at the scene to manage the crowd that was gathering at the scene.
However, no official statement had been issued on the number of fatalities or survivors by the time of this publication.
Further, motorists plying the route have been warned of a traffic snurl up along the highway as a result of the accident.

Likoni Fatal Accident
The accident occurred hours after another along the Likoni-Kombani road in Kwale county.
According to a police report, five people succumbed in the accident that involved a motorcycle and a truck at Denyenye area.
All five were pavilion passengers. According to the police, the rider who was carrying the five passengers rammed into a stationary Mitsubishi FH truck.
As a result, five male adults died on the spot while another who was rushed to Diani Beach Hospital sustained serious injuries.
“The motorcycle was being ridden from Kombani towards Likoni general direction while carrying five pillion passengers and upon reaching the location of the accident, the rider rammed onto the rear of the lorry which had stopped on the road.
“As a result of the accident 5 male adults were fatally injured while one male adult was seriously injured” read the report.

NTSA Statistics on 2024 Accidents
According to the latest data from the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), road accidents across the country have claimed at least 3,056 lives between January 1 and August 27, 2024.
This marks an increase of 146 deaths compared to the 2,910 recorded in the same period in 2023.
Since the beginning of the year, 7,114 Kenyans have been involved in road accidents, marking an increase of 703 compared to last year, 3674 were seriously injured and 585 suffered from minor injuries.
Pedestrians have recorded the highest number of deaths in road accidents since the start of the year, according to the Authority.
