The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has appealed to the public to provide any information regarding three murder suspects linked in the Scott Campbell death.
“The Directorate of Criminal Investigations is calling upon members of the public to volunteer information that may lead to the arrest of three murder suspects whose photographs are displayed below. The suspects are linked to the brutal murder of 58-year-old Briton, Campbell Scott, whose partially decomposed body was found on February 22, 2025, in Makongo Forest, Makueni Sub-County. Scott had arrived in the country just days earlier to attend a business conference,” read part of the statement.

Scott Campbell Murder Suspects Revealed
The three suspects linked to the murder of Scott Campbell are Bernard Mbunga Mbusu, Samuel Musembi Kamitu, and Alphonse Munyao Kilewa alias Edu.
According to the DCI report, the trio fled and have since gone into hiding.

DCI has urged Kenyans who have any information about their whereabouts to contact them on their toll-free hotline at 0800 722 203.
Additionally, members of the public can report any information to any police station near them.

Scott Body Found
Monday, February 24, 2025, police found Scott’s lifeless body was dumped in Makueni forest.
Furthermore, a taxi driver and waiter were detained with authorities stating that he was last seen at a Westlands club.
Campbell went missing from Nairobi on February 15 only for his body to be discovered 8 days later in Makueni, more than 100 Kilometers away.

Pathologist Johansen Oduor Revealed Cause of Death
Additionally, Johansen Oduor Government’s pathologist stated on Thursday, February 27, that the 58-year-old businessman’s body had superficial injuries that were unlikely to have caused his death.
However, he later ruled out the cause of death to be the injuries caused citing that superficial injuries were unlikely to have caused his death.
Fuurther, he indicated that his injuries may not have resulted from a violent attack, meaning the postmortem findings remain inconclusive.

Last Moments Before His Death
Before he went missing, the businessman Scott Campbell from Dunfermline in Britain, arrived in Kenya on February 15 for a visit to meet some senior businesspersons from United States, United Kingdom, and other countries from Africa and discuss about introduction of some products in market.
After arriving for the 3-day conference, he checked into the JW Marriott in Nairobi’s Westlands. He reportedly met with a friend for drinks at a bar in Westlands on February 16, before making his way to Pipeline.
When his colleagues failed to locate him on February 17, the matter was reported to Parkland’s Police station. The case was then forwarded to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on the next day with the International Police (Interpol) later joining.
