Citizen TV journalist Mashirima Kapombe has lost her mother.
The news anchor has shared that her mother has passed away on her social media platforms.
In a statement, Kapombe said that she is broken about the loss, praying that God grants her mother eternal peace.
“Broken. Eternal rest grant unto mum oh Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she Rest in peace. Amen,” she stated.
However, she has not disclosed the cause of her mother’s demise.
Three days earlier, Kapombe shared a photo of her mother and herself, saying that she was her whole world and her everything.

Kenyans Condole with the Citizen TV Journalist
Condolence messages have started pouring in for the seasoned journalist, including from the deputy government spokesperson Mwanaisha Chidzuga.
I send my condolences to you Kapombe and your family. God is never wrong. May the Lord give you peace during this difficult time. May her soul rest in peace,” stated Chidzuga.
Citizen Journalist Lilian Muli and Joyce Omondi, Journalist Alex mwakideu, Fridah Mwaka, Actress Brenda Wairimu and Comedian Jacky Vike are among those who have condoled with Kapombe.
“I am so sorry dear. may the Lord comfort you and your family,” stated Muli.
Family and Education
Mashirima Kapombe is an award-winning Kenyan Swahili news anchor at Citizen TV.
Not much is known about her family, but her father is a dentist in Nyeri County who hails from Giriama, Kilifi County. Her mother was a Taita from Voi.
Moreover, she moved with her father to Nyeri after he changed jobs.
Kapombe attended Consolata Primary School in Nyeri County, proceeded to Gatimu Ngandu for her high school education before joining Daystar University, Athi River campus in 2008.
She graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications.
Alos, she is a mother of one son.
