Police officers have arrested a 23-year-old teacher from a school in Kiambu County, for alleging to be in possession of the forthcoming 2023 KCSE and KCPE examination papers.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, detectives pounced on the suspect, an ‘examiner’, following investigations by officers attached to the Kenya National Examinations Council.
Moreover, detectives said the man leveraged technology to con unsuspecting and desperate parents, days before the national tests begin.
“Mr Examiner, had opened over 10 WhatsApp and Telegram accounts where he was hawking the fake examination papers at a paltry Ksh1,500 per paper and Ksh2,000 for a complete examination paper with its marking scheme,” read part of a statement from DCI.
Further, the suspect is said to have warned the over 900 members of the WhatsApp Group to focus on the core business of the forum as he was busy attending to willing buyers who were flocking to his inbox.
