The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) will nab former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua once he returns from his US trip.
This comes after Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen revealed that the former Deputy President will record a statement once he jets back into the country.
“I saw another man who sat where you are sitting the other day, disparaging our country, talking about issues of insecurity as if it were a joke. He thinks that he is going to parade issues of terrorism in America for him to get votes.
Because he has said that he has information and he knows and that he has an agent who is holding meetings with Al-Shabaab, as soon as he lands in Kenya, he must record a statement to tell us exactly which meetings he is having with terrorists,” Murkomen stated.
Murkomen Orders DCI to Question Gachagua Upon His Return
Murkomen further termed the former Deputy President’s actions as unbelievable.
“How did such a person ever get a chance to become the Deputy President of Kenya? It is just unbelievable. We must carry ourselves with the level of responsibility deserved when holding a public office,” Murkomen stated.

He further questioned Gachagua’s presidential ambitions, asking whether he can lead Kenya with such utterances.
“Can that person really become Kenya’s President? He did not even manage to finish his full term as Deputy President, and then he comes here to tell us stories of ‘Wantam.’
He could not even complete half his term. In Kenya’s history, it does not even look like he was ever a Deputy President. Ilioshwa kabisa with the impeachment that took place, and now he comes here to lecture us. So we will be very firm,” the Interior CS stated.
Murkomen’s response comes days after the former Deputy President, Rigathi Gachagua, addressing a public forum in the US , alleging that the Head of State met three leaders of the Al Shabaab militia under the cover of darkness to discuss undisclosed business matters.
Mandera Senator Responds to Gachagua’s Claims
Gachagua further accused the President of removing the vetting process for non-Kenyans seeking Kenyan identification documents, claiming it posed a threat to both national and international security.
“They want to know why, when you were in Mandera, you met three leaders of the Al Shabaab militia at night to discuss business,” Gachagua said.

However, in a detailed response, Mandera Senator Ali Roba described the accusations as “a calculated, malevolent lie” and termed Gachagua’s remarks as dangerous, misleading, and an attempt to gain political mileage through spreading fear.
Roba clarified that he personally accompanied President Ruto during the entire Mandera tour and confirmed that no secret or unofficial meetings took place.
“Every aspect of the President’s one-day itinerary was transparent and in the public domain. He only met officially recognised Mandera leaders and the public in open forums,” Roba said.
