The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has announced an alternative to address the high demand for CHAN 2024 match tickets after several Kenyans missed out on Kenya vs Zambia tickets.
Speaking at a press conference, FKF CEO Hussein Mohamed said the federation will organize football fan zones for those who were unable to secure tickets and will announce the locations in due course.
“We are also making arrangements to set up official fan zones where supporters who might not have an opportunity to come to the stadium can watch the Harambee Stars’ final group match against Zambia this Sunday, August 17, in a safe and controlled environment. Details of these exciting fan zones will be shared shortly as we continue with the necessary preparations,” read part of the statement.
FKF to Set Up Fan Zones for CHAN Ticketless Fans
At the same time, the FKF boss decried the hefty fines imposed on the federation by CAF following security breaches during Kenya’s opening match against the DRC and another match against Morocco, both held at Kasarani Sports Stadium.
“For me and my team at the federation, we are deeply concerned about the fines we are receiving after every match. This will set us back, and it is very saddening that we now have to go back to the drawing board to find ways of raising resources we had not planned for, just to pay these unbudgeted fines,” said Hussein.

The FKF boss further appealed to all Kenyans to support and cheer the national team on Sunday, but at the same time urged them to come to the stadium with a valid ticket.
“If you do not have a ticket, kindly watch it from home. We cannot overemphasize this particular point,” the FKF boss stated.
FKF Promises A Different Situation in Kenya Vs Zambia Game
Additionally, Hussein urged fans to cooperate with security personnel as they head to the Kasarani Stadium to watch Kenya’s match against Zambia on Sunday, August 25, 2025. He promised that appropriate measures would be put in place to prevent a repeat of the incidents that occurred on Sunday, August 10, 2025.
The FKF’s response regarding the tickets being fully booked and offering an alternative way to watch the games, which are also sold out, comes hours after CAF initially suspended ticket sales for all matches at Kasarani, including this game, due to security breaches and chaos during the Kenya vs. Morocco match on August 10, 2025.

When ticket sales reopened, regular tickets for KSh 200 sold out quickly, within hours . This left only some VIP seats available for KSh 500.
Additionally, CAF limited the stadium capacity to 60% (about 27,000 tickets) for the match, citing safety concerns, which further reduced the availability.
