Osotsi Accuses President William Ruto for Allowing Political Intimidation
Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi has accused President William Ruto’s administration of allowing political intimidation and violence during Linda Mwananchi rallies, questioning what he termed government hostility towards the opposition-led movement.
Speaking after the disruptions targeting Linda Mwananchi activities, Osotsi questioned why the government appeared concerned about the rallies.
He further accused the administration of allowing Kenya’s security institutions to lose control, alleging that “goons” had been allowed to interfere with political gatherings.
The senator also challenged Inspector General of Police leadership, demanding clarity on whether the police service remained firmly under official command or whether criminals were taking over security operations.
“What is it that William Ruto fears about Linda Mwananchi? Unfortunately, our government has been reduced to a gangster government. The IG should tell us whether he is in charge or whether he has left the leadership of the police to the goons,”said Osotsi.
His remarks came amid rising political tensions surrounding Linda Mwananchi rallies, where opposition-aligned leaders have repeatedly accused unnamed individuals of attempting to disrupt their meetings.
