X (Twitter) influencer Kibet Bull who is known for the now famous “Ruto” caricatures has been reported missing.
Concerns about his whereabouts emerged from an observation that his account was not active for hours amid the ongoing spate of abductions.
His last post was a photo taken during his meeting with Busia Senator and presidential aspirant Okiya Omtatah on December 24.
Amid the speculations about his safety, Activist Hanifa Adan confirmed the reports. In a statement shared on her X platform, Hanifa said that she spoke to Kibet’s family on Wednesday, December 25, when she learnt that his brother has been missing since Saturday, December 24.
Family Unaware of Kibet Bull’s Whereabouts
“Hello guys. I just talked to Kibet’s sister with the number I was given and she says that Kibet’s brother has been missing since Saturday and they even reported it. They can’t get hold of Kibet Bull as well. Unfortunately it seems Kibet has been taken and we don’t know where his brother is as well. This is getting dangerous and ridiculous!” read the statement.
Social media personality Francis Gaitho had earlier linked Kibet’s disappearance to a meeting with Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah and accused him of being behind this alleged incident.
Omtatah confirmed that he met with Kibet but firmly denied any involvement in his disappearance.
He characterized the allegations as false, baseless, and imaginative, asserting that he has always been committed to justice, the rule of law, and the protection of human rights.
He stressed that his meeting with Kibet was conducted in good faith, similar to many of his daily interactions with Kenyans.

Omtatah urged concerned Kenyans to direct efforts towards finding the actual perpetrators and holding them accountable, rather than being distracted by conspiracy theories.

“Let’s refrain from peddling falsehoods that only serve to distract us from the urgent task of protecting Kenyans from oppression. Let us remain united in the fight for rule of law, good governance & justice and demand accountability where it truly belongs,” Omtatah clarified.
Kenyans including Political leaders and religious leaders condemn the ongoing abductions
Kibet’s alleged disappearance coincides with a troubling pattern of abductions targeting individuals accused of criticizing President William Ruto‘s administration, with widespread suspicion that police officers are allegedly involved in these actions.
Recently, several social media users, particularly those vocal on platform X, were abducted after posting images deemed disrespectful to the President. Among those who remain missing are Benard Kavuli, Billy Mwangi, and Peter Muteti.
Their abductions have sparked widespread condemnation from various politicians, civil society groups, and religious leaders.

Mombasa Catholic Archbishop Martin Kivuva has urged the Head of State to put an end to these ongoing abductions.
Meanwhile, Kiambu Senator Karungo Thang’wa has called on the government to view criticism as an opportunity for improvement rather than a threat to silence dissent. He warned that repression only serves to create martyrs and amplify opposition.
