Nairobi City County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, Geoffrey Mosiria, has been sacked as the county announces new roles for three chief officers.
Mosiria previously served as Chief Officer for Environment before being transferred to his current docket in November 2025.
In a notice dated Wednesday, October 21, signed by Nairobi City County Secretary and Head of Public Service Machel Waikenda, announced the reassignment of three officers to new or additional responsibilities.
“Pursuant to sections 44(3)(a), 45(5) and 64 of the County Governments Act, 2012, and with the approval of His Excellency the Governor, the following officers are hereby reassigned and/or designated to the respective offices of County Chief Officer (CCO) as set out below,” the statement read in part.
Who is Replacing Mosiria
Zipporah Njeri Mwangi has been designated Acting Chief Officer for Public Participation, Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, in addition to her existing responsibilities in City Culture, Arts and Tourism.
The reassignment places the citizen engagement and customer service docket previously held by Geoffrey Mosiria under Mwangi’s responsibilities, while she retains her existing City Culture, Arts and Tourism assignment.
Eng. Samwel Njogu has been assigned as Acting Chief Officer for Mobility, according to the county notice.

Geoffrey Mosiria Alleges Intimidation in Bid to Remove Him From Office
In a statement on October 21, Geoffrey Mosiria said he was aware of previous legal attempts to challenge his position in Nairobi County Government.
He said he respects the courts and the rule of law, adding that he would defend himself through lawful means against allegations he considers false or malicious.
“I am aware of previous attempts to challenge my position through legal proceedings. I respect the courts and the rule of law, and I will continue to defend myself through lawful means against any false or malicious allegations,” he said.
The county official also responded to allegations circulating in a video claiming that, during his tenure as Chief Officer in the Health Department, he opened chemists outside hospital entrances and diverted medicines meant for county hospitals to pharmacies allegedly belonging to him.
Mosiria dismissed the claims, saying he served diligently and ensured medicines reached all 124 county health facilities.

He said area Members of the County Assembly (MCAs), Community Health Promoters (CHPs), chiefs, and community leaders accompanied the deliveries to ensure the supplies reached the intended facilities.
Mosiria further maintained that he could not deliberately divert medicines meant for sick patients for personal gain, describing public resources as a trust that leaders and public servants must protect.
He challenged anyone with credible evidence against him to present it through the proper legal channels, saying he would not be intimidated by allegations that could be tested through evidence and due process.
