Buuri Member of Parliament Mugambi Rindikiri has been involved in a road accident at Siraji, Timau, along the Meru–Nanyuki Road.
In a social media update on January 22, Mugambi confirmed he had been involved in an accident but stated he was safe and in good condition.
He added that the occupants of the other vehicle, which was carrying Catholic sisters, were also safe and doing well.
Mugambi expressed gratitude to his constituents and all Kenyans for their prayers and support.
“My team and I appreciate the concern shown following a road incident. We are all safe and doing well. Thank you to my constituents and fellow Kenyans for the prayers and goodwill,” he said.
The legislator was on his way to Kinoru Stadium to attend President William Ruto’s NYOTA programme at the time of the incident.
It collided with a matatu on the right, which also showed visible damage to its front side.
At the scene, traffic police officers were seen managing the situation as bystanders gathered nearby.

Career Background of Buuri MP
Mugambi began his professional career at the Kenya Posts and Telecommunications Corporation, where he worked as a Planning Officer from 1984 to 1991.
He then joined British American Insurance Company, serving as a Branch Manager between 1991 and 1995. From 1995 to 2003, he worked at Madison Insurance Company as a Division Manager.
In 2003, Mugambi moved to Channel Insurance Brokers Ltd, where he served as Chairman and Director until 2017. Since 2017, he has been serving as a Member of Parliament in the Kenya National Assembly.

Multiple Dead After Trailer Rams into Two Matatus on Nairobi–Nakuru Highway
On January 19, several people are feared dead following a serious road accident involving a heavy commercial trailer and two public service vehicles along the Nairobi–Nakuru highway near Kikopey.
The impact caused extensive damage, trapping passengers inside the vehicles and leaving debris scattered across the busy highway.
Images and video circulating from the scene showed the container-laden trailer resting off the carriageway, with one matatu crushed beneath its rear section as rescue efforts continued.
Bystanders and first responders attempted to assist victims, some of whom appeared critically injured.
