Nakhumicha lands new role months after being sacked
Nakhumicha has been nominated as the Permanent Representative in the Permanent Mission of Kenya to UN Habitat, Nairobi months after she was sacked as the Health CS.
She was among the ministers who were sacked when President Ruto dissolved his entire Cabinet—except for Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi—in what he termed an effort to create a government with national cohesion.
The decision came amid massive protests led by Gen Z youth, who were demanding major government reforms following the passage of the Finance Bill 2024, which was later revoked.
Nakhumicha was however not absorbed back when Ruto nominated a new Cabinet over a week later, in which he retained a few faces from the one that he had disbanded.
The former CS then retreated back to the village in Trans Nzoia County and resorted to a quiet life as a farmer, according to her social media updates.
