Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has hit back at Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna after the latter launched a scathing attack on President William Ruto, questioning how a self-proclaimed intellectual leader like himself could associate closely with individuals he described as lacking academic credentials.
Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV on Thursday, February 20, morning, Sifuna ridiculed Ruto’s frequent emphasis on his PhD, saying it was not worth anything if he continued surrounding himself with individuals like MP Oscar Sudi who he labelled as a “class two dropout”.

Sudi hit back at the Senator in a video and asserted that while education is undeniably important, effective leadership requires more than just academic credentials.
The outspoken legislator further maintained that his Intelligence Quotient (IQ) could not be compared to that of Sifuna, claiming to be “smarter” than him.

“Sifuna, you are saying that Ruto is hanging out with class 2 dropouts. Let me ask you, our fathers are they graduands? Can you compare me with you Sifuna? Your IQ is not even a quarter of my IQ. I am in another class,” said Sudi.
“You don’t have even a quarter of my knowledge. It is not about school, it is about skills and calculation.”

The Kapseret MP made the remarks after Senator Sifuna questioned how President Ruto, a PhD holder, could associate closely with individuals he described as lacking academic credentials.
Sifuna’s remarks on Oscar Sudi
The senator claimed that Ruto and his allies were aware of the growing dissatisfaction among Kenyans, which is why they had resorted to insults instead of addressing the real issues.
Sifuna further insisted that Kenyans did not need academic titles to understand the state of their country, adding that ordinary citizens were well aware of the struggles they faced under Ruto’s leadership.

He stated that leadership is not just about academic qualifications but also about the ability to make sound decisions and work with competent individuals.
“How can Ruto, a man who insists that he has a PhD and that nobody should lecture him on anything, be hanging out with a class two dropout? You automatically lower the average intelligence in the room to at least Class 8, How can you be a PhD holder hanging out with Sudi” the senator asked.
“We might not have PhDs, but we know how we feel about our country and where it needs to go,” Sifuna said. “And we will speak the truth no matter what. Nobody will scare us, and nobody will threaten us.”
The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party Secretary General while dismissing any attempts to silence him also declared that he would continue holding the government accountable, emphasizing that he represented the frustrations of millions of Kenyans.
He also reaffirmed that ODM does not support President Ruto’s administration.
