Former and 4th President Uhuru Kenyatta has resurfaced after a month of speculations on his health.
Uhuru was spotted in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire ahead of the 15th High-Level Retreat on the Promotion of Peace, Security, and Stability in Africa.
“His Excellency President (Rtd) Uhuru Kenyatta arrives in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, ahead of the 15th High-Level Retreat on the Promotion of Peace, Security, and Stability in Africa,” read a statement in part.
“The retreat convened by the African Union (AU) Commission will focus on the Impact and Sustainability of AU Preventive Diplomacy and Mediation in addressing conflicts across the continent.”
Whereabouts of Uhuru Keeps Kenyans Concerned
Former President Kenyatta has not been in the public eye for a while, with concerns around his health becoming a topic of discussion after reports emerged that he was critically ill.
Reports had been circulated online by social media influencers including Maverick Aoko, who claimed that Uhuru was in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in the United Kingdom and was in a very critical condition.
While Maverick Aoko did not disclose the sources of her reports, she insisted that she got the news from credible sources close to the former president.

Pauline Njoroge Clarifies Uhuru’s Health
The reports on Uhuru’s health forced former Jubilee Digital Communications specialist Pauline Njoroge to issue clarification on reports regarding former President being critically ill.
In a statement, she dismissed the rumors as a fictional story created by someone with ill intentions. Additionally, she lamented that it was wrong to spread such information online, questioning the motives behind the move.
“Someone wakes up, as usual, creates a fictional story, and posts it on social media. But this time, it’s about someone’s health, claiming that the person is critically ill and in the ICU.”
“Why would a normal human being do such a thing? To what end? Likes?” she wondered.
